Quote of the Week

Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.  - Sally Koch

Anywhere, at any time, you may be presented with an opportunity to help someone in need.  Yesterday, it took two men little more than 5 minutes to change a tire for a lady in need in the church parking lot.

I was not the lady in question, but my husband was one of the men.  People helping people; it's a beautiful thing.

  1. Good for him! So many people wouldn't bother, or would just offer to call a tow truck at most - IF they had a cell phone.

  2. Good on your husband. It's how things always were years ago.

Mo has often stopped our car and offered to take a complete stranger home, if they were carrying something awkward or heavy. Especially the elderly. I've lost count of how many times she's done this.

  3. Nicky- It took so little time and helped her a lot. At first she said she'd call AAA, but another gentleman from church approached her (she did not know us) and convinced her to park and let them change it for her.

Babs- Helping people is good, as long as you use common sense, since, sad to say, not all situations are what they seem. That thought works both ways. The lady may have been uncomfortable accepting help from people she didn't know.

And you know what?? Something good is going to happen to YOU very very soon. I can feel it in my bones.

    Good things are always happening.

  5. Hi Linda .. it's being kind and thoughtful everyday - and then being prepared to help out as and when. Exactly there's always people who need that little extra - even a smile brightens someone's day ..

    Cheers Hilary

  7. Jannie - Good to see you my friend. My hubby is pretty awesome. I'll be on the lookout for something good.

Hilary- You do know about that from your own life, don't you. A smile goes many a mile.

Hilary- Nope it doesn't. Thanks goodness!
