Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.- Leonardo da Vinci
A friend of mine said we finger paint with our words. It's true! Words paint pictures and pictures tell stories. Each unique on its own, yet intertwining to create great beauty.
What a beautiful quote!!! I am absolutely inspired. Paint on!

ReplyDeleteNicely put. And there are some of nature's paint brushes in your lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteStarTraci- Thank you, I will!
ReplyDeleteMeleah- Words without illustrations encourage us to create our own pictures. Paintings allow us to create the story.
Linda- I thought so too!
Babs- And it sparks creativity from both sides.
Anonymous- Hello there and thanks for stopping by.
Hilary- Thank you. I was quite taken with the sea oats dancing in the breeze.
Interesting. I must be more audibly inspired because when I write it feels to me what writing music or conducting an orchestra must feel like. I can almost hear the beats, the ebb and flow of the piece. I think writing poetry must have some of that same type of feeling. I do like this quote. How it all intertwines...
