Fall Leaves

Leaves scattered upon the ground, red and gold now turning brown.  Rakes and blowers make leafy mountains, kids jumping and shouting.

Dogs barking and chasing squirrels; squirrels chasing each other.  Fall is a flurry of activity.  Summer's heat is now a memory, and the days are once again cool and crisp.

  2. My favorite season beautifully represented.

Now if those leaves would just jump in the compost bags for me, I'd be truly happy! :)

  6. Not my favorite season, but your words and that image may make me re-examine that! Nice!

  7. I can only imagine what that must be like. We don't have autumn leaf shedding at where I live!

  8. I don't know if this qualifies as poetry or not, but that's how I read it and I was pleasantly surprised. I don't understand poetry. I never have.

However, I really liked this. Such vivid images in such a compact amount of words.

    Well done!

  10. Brian Miller- Thanks. Sometimes it comes and leaves to soon.

Talon- Ah, my favorite season is summer. Fall is nice, and I enjoy it, but it is just heralding winter.

Austin- Got a blower? Love mine!

    Eric- Thanks.

G-Man- Yeah, it passes into winter too soon.

Monkey Man- Summer, till next year.

    Linda- Thanks. Summer's my favorite.

Mona- It would seem a bit odd without some season change.

Cardiogirl- Thanks. I didn't write it as poetry, but I realize it has a sing-song quality. You say you don't understand poetry. Much of it I don't either, but mine is always straight forward, and easy to follow.

Don- Thanks, there is something nice about every season.
