The Lock and the Key

Said the lock to the key
Will you marry me
We'll live forever more
Here upon this weathered door
It's charming and quaint
With it's peeling paint

Said the key to the lock
It's the best on the block
It's sheltered in shade
So we'll have it made
You and me together
Forever

  16. Dulce- Thanks for stopping by. I glad you liked it.

Brian Miller- Thanks, I think they were meant for each other.

Talon- They do don't they. I must confess this was inspired by a magpie photo, for which I had already made my submission. So I kept this one back, and found a new pic.

    SuziCate- Glad you enjoyed it.

    Caty- Thanks.

Eric Alder- Familiar, huh? I hope not. Otherwise I was inside someone else's head when I wrote it. Thanks for visiting.

Sam Liu- "Charming and quaint with it's peeling paint" is my favorite part. I'm glad you liked it too.

Sara- Thanks, it was fun to write too. See above comment to Talon - I had to find another picture since I wasn't using this as a magpie. The original picture was the lock on "Through the Door". I think this door captures the essence of the poem.

    n. davis rosback- Maybe you'd better check on them- you can't be too careful. Thanks for the visit.

Pete Marshall- Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.

G-man- Thank you. Nice of you to visit.
