Quote of the Week

Feelings are much like waves, we can't stop them from coming but we can choose which one to surf.  - Jonatan MÃ¥rtensson

Madeira Beach, FL

If we look at feelings like waves that keep rolling ashore, we want to choose the ones that will give us the best ride and be least likely to cause a wipe out.  In other words, focus on the good feelings, ones that uplift you and keep you on an even keel.  Otherwise you may find yourself treading water.

  1. A beautiful analogy and so true. Positivity is key.

  2. Truer words never spoken. So often we act like we have no choice but to grab every single wave that comes our way. Loved this, Linda!

  4. Sam Liu- True, but not always easy.

Talon- Maybe that mindset comes from years of programming - that we should take everything head on.

Lyn- Yes it is, especially if we take it.

  5. Like others said, this is a great analogy. I will think about this during my week and look for the waves that will give me the best ride. Thanks:~)

  6. I love this, especially considering how much I love the ocean. I will remember it the next time I am there!!

  7. Sara- There are many waves we should just pass up, but how many times do we just jump on anyway?

Katherine- I'm sure this ocean scene is much different that what you see at the Outer Banks. The waves are nice to look at and listen to, but I prefer the "no wave" waters of the Gulf for swimming and floating around.
