Change is Coming
We have hope where once the future looked bleak.
We see freedom and justice where previously we saw unjustly held political hostages. We see common sense returning, pushing out the woke insanity that has been building for years.
We have freedom of speech again instead instead of being silenced because of our opinions.
We see a return to hiring based on merit and filled by qualified individuals and not based on color, gender, ethnicity or LGB status.
We feel a renewed sense of pride in our country, and not the pride of rainbow colored flag.
These are all things and feelings that have been missing for too long. To paraphrase a fellow blogger, I am glad that the 4 long years of 2020 are finally over. If you know, you know.
Until next time, take care everyone.

Inauguration Day!
It's finally here! January 20, 2025. The day we have all been waiting for since November 6, 2024. Due to the impending cold, the ceremony was moved indoors (in advance).
We the People have spoken. A total of 77,302,416 of us have been fed up to the gills with the censorship, the medical tyranny, the transgender ideology, inflation and the serious border crisis which has allowed the criminals to pour into our country for the past four years.
Afterward: The inauguration ceremony has been completed. There were many cheers and standing ovations given. Voices joined together to sing "America the Beautiful" lead by Carrie Underwood, and wonderful inaugural prayer was given by the Rev. Franklin Graham.
After which, President Trump signed the first of many executive orders before addressing a gathering of supporters and then adjourning for lunch.
The festivities continued, including an indoor parade, more speeches and signing EOs. Each document required a new pen. When he was finished publicly signing the nine orders, he tossed the pens out to the audience.
The day's public activities culminated at the inaugural ball, and the ever lovely Melanie had shed her formal attire for a beautiful evening dress.
It was a wonderful day for America! I won't get into any of the politics now. This is just a day for celebration.

It Snowed!
It was more than a dusting, and less than a good snow, but still it was (and is) pretty. I love how the snow outlines the branches of my Poplar. It was a gentle snow, which happens here with really cold temperatures. Yes, I know it is balmy to some folks and a deep freeze to others, depending on where you live.
The snow started sometime after 1 p.m. on Friday and continued for around 12 hours, more or less. I didn't stay up to keep tabs. It was beautiful Saturday morning, cold and windy. I put up the spare bird feeder Friday afternoon after the snow started sticking, which didn't take long since we have been so cold lately. The birds really seem to enjoy having a place they know they can get a snack. Given the speed with which they empty the feeders some days, it is less like a snack, and more like the all-you-can-eat bird buffet.
The days have been sunny since mid-day Saturday, so while things are melting a bit and getting slushy, the nights and the ground are cold, so large patches of snow will be with us for a while...maybe waiting for another one. We'll have to wait and see.
