Just A Rock
There is nothing special about this rock. I did not sit on it in contemplation. It does not mark the site of a buried treasure - that I'm aware of anyway. It is just a rock in the woods along the Salem Lake trail. It caught my eye by the way the afternoon sun shone on it bringing out all the different layers of color and texture.

Hi Linda - the history of the geological eras. The sun warming the stone ... so you could sit and contemplate the lake a-while .. lovely - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHilary, it would indeed make a great place for contemplation, and it was a wonderful afternoon for a walk. I had been feeling a little off and felt much better after walking (strolling actually) for a while.
DeleteIt had a wood-like appearance.
ReplyDeleteI think I would of stopped and ponder this rock, too.
Hi Christine! The layers do resemble the grain of wood, both mighty and beautiful.
DeleteIt caught your eye.. and you shared. That's exactly what does make it special. Thanks for that.
ReplyDeleteYou're most welcome, Hilary. I have learned a lot about what makes a good picture from you and your photographs. Thank you!
