Yes. If only people were satisfied with who THEY are, they would probably achieve more and be a lot happier.
The older I get, the easier it is, Linda. :)
I'm with Talon. I didn't get comfortable in my own skin until I hit my 40s and now, wrinkled though it may be, I wouldn't trade it for anyone else's.
Hmmmm, I must admit, my first reaction is to protest and ask if we shouldn't try to evolve and grow and be better than we were yesterday? Or maybe I'm not catching the meaning of this quote...?
Love the quote. I'm still learning how to be comfortable as ME. As Talon said, it does it easier as I grow older:~)
Your quotes always make me really REALLY think. My biggest regret in life is probably NOT being myself, for fear I will not be liked or I will upset someone. NOT the way to live!Your picture? GORGEOUS!!!!
Babs- I agree, but we're usually our worst critics and fear others are looking at what we think are our faults rather than believing in ourselves and who we are.Talon- I think that comes from have been around the proverbial block a few times. ;)Jayne- Yes, it does take time. More for some than others, I would suppose. I'm getting better at it.Nicky- Yes, we should always strive for our personal best, but always as ourselves, and not create "someone new" just for the benefit of impressing others.Sara- Yes, it does get easier. Time and experience is a great teacher.Katherine- I make you think, huh? Good! I try really hard at that. And NO, that's not the way to live. If you are a good person and live a good life, then if someone doesn't like you, it doesn't matter. There are always going to be personality clashes and disagreeable people. Be yourself and like you first.
So true!! When we try to be something we are not, that is when trouble starts.Great quote!
Alexandra- Amen! Always a pleasure to see you here.Meleah- It bears repeating - Amen!
