Quote of the Week

Listen or thy tongue will keep thee deaf.
-Native American Indian Proverb

If you are always talking, the only thoughts, ideas and opinions you will ever hear are your own.  This is akin to being deaf, for you will never learn anything new.  Hear...Listen...Learn.

  1. So very true, Linda. Maybe that's why we have 2 ears and one mouth :)

  2. Hi Linda ('cept I typed Listen?!)

so true .. for me I'd say read, listen, learn .. as I read so much, and hear and listen - then learn as I repeat and write about things ..

The photo looks cold .. but I love the snow covered shrubs .. cheers Hilary

  7. I liked Talon's comment:~) That's a good one.

I must confess this has always been a difficult lesson for me. Because I get nervous, I sometimes talk, more than I listen. I've really worked on listening more than talking in the last few years. It does make a difference:~)

Thanks for this quote and your special thoughts about it!
