Fear less, hope more; eat less, chew more; whine less, breathe more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more; and all good things are yours. - Swedish Proverb
Good advice and things we could all benefit by doing more or less of.
"talk less, say more" -- my favourite. That would be a great exercise to practice with friends. Just sitting there, reading each other's face and posture and then sharing what came to mind.
Hi Linda .. what a great Swedish proverb .. I thought whine was wine! All things that need to be reduced at this time of year .. smile often, grimace less ...
Cheers and happy times for the year ahead .. Hilary
I love this quote. I want to get a copy of it and hang in my office -- someplace where I will see it regularly. I think it deserves to be read over and over again.
Apparently I am behind in responding. Where does the time go?
Meleah- There are a lot of folks who need that advice (I have to include myself sometimes). ;)
Davina- There is an aspect of this quote for everyone. I agree that there is a lot of "talk" that doesn't really say anything.
Nicky- That is probably the toughest one for me. It is that time of year though. ;)
Hilary- I guess we should focus on the positives over the negatives. Cheers to you in the new year.
Talon- Sorry you've been feeling poorly. I would suppose there is a lot of nasty stuff going around. I've been lucky so far. Hope you are feeling better. I hadn't thought of it that way, but it is all about balance, or everything in moderation, as I prefer to call it.
Sara- It seems like it covers everything so there is something here for everyone.
I love this. I especially love

I know people who could use that advice.

ReplyDeleteHmmm, I've just come from reading 3 separate blog posts about dieting and I can't get past the "eat less" part of that quote :-)

Love this proverb, Linda. I love the play of balance. Sorry to be so late in commenting - I've been under the weather.

What a beautiful sky. I want to know how you reconcile eating less but chewing more. ;)
ReplyDeleteThose colors were so gorgeous that night, the camera doesn't do them justice.
ReplyDeleteAbout the eating less...I do have a problem with that. ;)
