Cats in sprawling repose
Or curled up nose to nose
Sleeping the day away
Dreaming of a day at play
Rolling, blinking, unseeing eyes
A whimper and a heavy sigh
A big stretch, blink and stare
Stretch again and rise with flair
Wander out for a snack
Then slowly wander back
To start over again

thanks for coming by One Shot hope you liked the G-Man 55s
My cats are shaking their heads in agreement, Linda :)
ReplyDeleteHi Linda .. I think all cats would agree .. it's a dog's life! But aren't they lucky - they get to choose ..to sleep their day away, to play in the hedgerows, escaping via the cat flap or open door .. or just turning over and starting again ..
ReplyDeleteGreat 55 .. enjoy the weekend .. Hilary
Such is life in cat-dom!!! I would oftentimes wish to come back in another life as a tame, pet...a cat!
ReplyDeleteHere is my 55 link
Sometimes I want to sleep like that. Without a care!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Haibun in 55 words!
I think that says everything, and quite well!

ReplyDeletevery cute 55. Cats know how to do it, don't they?
ReplyDeleteAhh, so cute -- and that's about the size of it, coming out for a snack. And mine wanders out for a pee too, then goes back to sleep. :)
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of cats, it pains me that your sweet little sidebar button is about to go bye-bye for now. Boo hoo. I will miss it and your Rosebud so much. He will be back in a few weeks in a reacap post, tho!
Doodle will have to be in the next button for you!!
Cats are SO wonderful.
And YOU are too!!

Wonderful imagery! Very poetic! And the cat is poetry itself, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteLinda -- You know me...I'm a sucker for cats. I loved this poem and it reminds me of my cat, Aggie.
ReplyDeleteAggie even sleeps like Sophie -- on her back with her front and back paws curled. It just makes me really want to rub her belly...but I know better than that.
