I cannot endure to waste anything so precious as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house. So I have spent almost all the daylight
hours in the open air. - Nathaniel Hawthorne
Pretty Dogwood berries in the late afternoon sunlight.

Hi Linda - those are wonderful looking berries ... our trees and bushes are full of berries and have been for a while - heralding an early autumn ... full of goodies for all the little critters ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThe Dogwoods have some of the prettiest berries, along with Nandinas. Interestingly, most of the Nandina berries remain on the bush until they turn brown and fall off. I guess the critters don't like them so much.
DeleteAny quote by Hawthorne is perfection and that sunlight is divine.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo!
Hi Mimi, thank you so much for stopping by. I am trying to revive my quote of the week series, which used to be on Mondays. Now I'll settle for any day. I do adore the late afternoon sunlight. It makes the ordinary beautiful.
