I think what Terence is saying here is that no matter how easy the task, if it's something we dislike doing, and possibly procrastinate, it becomes difficult. Like, for example, unloading the dishwasher. It is a simple task that no one enjoys doing, therefore it becomes a painful job to be avoided.

Terence certainly had that right. Things I don't enjoy become a weight on my shoulders. Preparing income tax documents shouldn't be as difficult as I make it but I procrastinate until the last minute.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting that Terence was set free and that he was so educated given the time frame.
It is tax time, isn't it? That is always hubby responsibility. I think this year we need a CPA to help us get on track after he was laid off/retired and then started working as a contractor. I don't think anyone enjoys doing taxes.
DeleteWhat I love is that you found a quote so old... and related it to the dishwasher. Awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Somethings are just timeless.
DeleteHi Linda - I'd never heard of him - how interesting to read about. Procrastination is a pain! Not something to get into the habit of doing - if something needs doing - do it ..
ReplyDeleteCheers Hilary
I hadn't heard of him either, which is part of what makes doing these quotes so great. I learn a lot. I agree that procrastination is painful. I am still guilty, though.
