55 Hotdogs

This is day seven of the 20 Days of Chill writing challenge hosted by P. J. at A ‘lil HooHaa. Please join me as we share a month of reading, writing and discovery. Today's topic is Ten hotdogs.

Do you remember the nursery rhyme about 10 little indians?  If not, it goes like this:

If for some crazy reason you can't see the video, click here.

Vienna has claimed the wiener for over 500 years, and Germany is likely be the first to put their dachshund sausages in a bun.  Whether you call them wieners or frankfurters, dogs or pigs in blankets, almost everyone likes a good hot dog. Whether they are fried, steamed or grilled, there are a multitude of different ways to dress them. You can get them from the diner, the ballgame or a hot dog stand or your own back yard.  There are even eating contests to see how many you can eat in a specified number of minutes.  So how do you like your dogs?

Let's see how many you can eat!

  1. Mmmm. Wrap some bacon around a couple of those and I'm good to go.

  2. Hot dogs in brine? That is very unusual! Talk about salt on salt!!!!! I can't remember the last time I ate a hot dog. But for sure it was loaded. Chili, cheese, catsup, mustard, pickles, relish, onions.... nom nom nom!

    1. I hadn't heard of brined hot dogs either. I wonder what they're like? I dare say your ideal hot dog is loaded...to the hilt. I'll take mine with mustard and chili, and occasionally some cheese.

    1. Yep, when I worked downtown, we would occasionally get lunch from the dog wagon.

  4. LOL!!! Oh, this was a fun one. You must have had a good time taking those pictures. I confess I love a good hot dog, but I try not to eat too many. But just looking at your pictures made my mouth water.

    1. Sorry to disappoint you Sara, but I found all those courtesy of the internet. I looked at lots of hot dogs before finding 10 pictures with 1-10 hot dogs, and I even had to crop some to get the right number.

I do love a good hot dog, too. We have a little place here that has really great dogs!
