There were a few things I thought of that could elicit such an exclamation, but didn't think any of those would be appropriate. Then I remembered something that happened a while back. Hubby and I play Word Feud on our phones. This is a game similar to Scrabble or Words with Friends.
Anyway, Hubby had a game going with a friend of ours, and after making a particularly good play, he got a one-word text message. We could hear our friend as if he were sitting at the table with us..."Dayum".
I love playing Wordfeud. Until I lose, of course, then it's not any fun at all.
ReplyDeleteZiva, it's always more fun when we win. :)
ReplyDeleteDamn, I never heard of this. But it sounds like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteIf this is like Internet Scrabble I always cheat. I tell people right up front, "You know, I'm gonna cheat online." You wouldn't believe how many people say "Okay...will you still play?"
ReplyDeleteI'm serious. ROFL
I love those moments when somebody makes an awesome play, and everybody involved just has to stop for a minute to acknowledge the brilliance. Those are the moments to live for.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know what the word was to evoke that response. I play Words With Friends with a few people. It can be a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI try to avoid games against other people. I'm much too competitive and would say a lot worse than 'Dayum' :-)
ReplyDeleteI say it all of the time when playing WWF. Haven't heard of your game!
ReplyDeleteYep. That's how we see damn down here in the south. I've gotten good at it while playing WWF.
ReplyDeleteNow I want to go ask Siri what d-a-y-u-m spells just to hear her say it. :)
ReplyDeleteNow I want to play that game too! Dayum!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha!!!! That reminds me of when I play Words with Friends with my coworker Larry. He is AMAZING... he is always hundreds of points above me. I've only beat him twice. Every time he gets one of those 90+ point words (he doesn't cheat) I message back, "Dammit, Larry!"
ReplyDeletenonamedufus- It is, like Ziva said, when you win.
ReplyDeleteMariann- I guess they are confident they can win anyway.
KZ- There have been some epic scores since we've been playing.
Hilary- I wish I could remember. I think it was a triple digit score.
Nicky- You competitive? I never knew. ;)
laughingmom- I guess it's a lot the same.
ReformingGeek- What part of the South?
Jayne- Yeah, I'd like to hear that too.
Linda- It's free, but there is a paid version without the ads.
Katherine- Some people play fiercely, but I wouldn't know anything about that. ;)
Oh yes, Wordfeud is such a FUN game. Especially when you're winning!
ReplyDeleteMeleah- Let me know if you want to play sometime.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to read the comments. You are having a good time, I hope. I like the way you wrote this one and the ending, "Dayum."
ReplyDeleteSara- Yes, having a good time. It's true, we could just hear him saying that.
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of WordFeud. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteThat last one I accidentally clicked anonymous. Oops. Still haven't heard of WordFeud until now. ;P
