Sticky Business

It's hard to believe another Christmas is almost here.  Another tree carefully selected and decorated.  Gifts ordered with the click of my mouse.  So what is different about this year?  Well, this is the year that my 15 1/2 year old cat started taking insulin.  We have been fortunate to maintain his condition for nearly 3 years with food,  Alas, that time has passed.  Now it is twice daily shots for Rosie B.

He's a good boy and so patient with all of our sticking and pricking.  He, as well as Sophie and Dood, are really enjoying the Christmas tree.  The tree skirt rumpled and covered in cat hair, but I don't mind.  It is as much for them as it is for us.

  1. I am sorry your furry one has to take those shots... but I am glad you have him with you for all that.

Sweet photo of those two under the tree. Doesn't your heart just melt when you see that?

  3. Aww poor Rosie B. It sounds like he's a nice, gentle boy though. I hope he copes well with the shots for many more years to come.

  4. Brenda - I am sorry too. I think it is harder on us than it is on him. It does tug at the heart strings. I've taken so many pictures and videos already.

Hilary- They are most adoring of us and each other. The tree skirt is definitely their territory.

Hilary- He's definitely a sweetheart about the whole business. He has had health issues for many years and this is just one more thing to deal with. He is "mama's boyy" for sure.

  5. Poor Rosie! Well, at least he has a very loving family to take care of him.

I can understand why they like spending their time under that Christmas tree. Very pretty!

  6. So sorry to hear you have to give shots to your cat. Good thing that there is at least a way to help him though. And really nice to see how they all enjoy the Christmas tree. :)
