Written for the 30-day creative writing challenge hosted by Nicky and Mike of We Work For Cheese. Today's prompt is cheese.
Cheese, cheese, beautiful cheese
Provolone, Swiss and Edam
Colby, Jack and Muenster, too
You just can't beat 'em
A plate of Havarti, creamy and fine
So lovely with a glass of wine
For my pizza I gotta say
Mozzarella makes my day
A plate of Havarti, creamy and fine
So lovely with a glass of wine
For my pizza I gotta say
Mozzarella makes my day
Gouda, oh Gouda, smokey or plain
Drives my Quesadillas insane
Mac and cheese down on the farm
With lots of Cheddar and a little Parm
What more can I say about this food prepared from the pressed curd of milk? More cheese, please!

This is awesome! I'll look forward to more of your posts for this challenge if they are this entertaining!
ReplyDeleteNow I want some cheese! Great post :)
ReplyDeleteInterestingly enough, considering it's about my least favorite food, I actually like this little poem. Well done. ;)
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I'm not even going to make fun of you a little bit, it was that good. You get 20 points for this one! :-)
ReplyDeleteI really wish you hadn't mentioned Mac 'n Cheese. It's lunchtime here, and I'm starving. But I won't be satisfied unless I can get me some, and that's not likely since McMac 'n Cheese hasn't launched their franchise yet.
ReplyDeleteNicely done! I'm impressed that cheese can be such good subject matter!
ReplyDeleteDo you REALLY like cheese this much, or are you just rhyming us down the primrose path?
ReplyDelete(either way, it was fun :)
Linda, this poetry is far from cheesy! It's very very good! Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteSuch a clever lady. That was really fun, Linda. Good job!

Mike WJ- Coincidentally, I'm making that tonight to take to dinner with friends.

Please tell me you were a cheerleader in a past life! Ha! This was fun and I did read it like a cheer. Nicely done. ;-)
