It would get cold and dark, and we'd all die.
It never rained again and our water sources dried up?
We'd have no food or water, and we'd all die.
You won the lottery?
It wouldn't save you if there were no sun or water. Be thankful for what you have. For clarification, I am not against the lottery, but know that money doesn't fix everything either.
Though there are other things I'd like to have had, and know I never will now, I am forever thankful for what I do have.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteSo many people buy lottery tickets, yearning for what they don't have. Thanks for the reminder that most of what we don't have, we don't need.
This makes me think of a radio program last night about the American Southwest, overbuilt and running out of water.
Have a nice weekend.
I just love a story with a moral.
ReplyDeleteYou always deliver something Top Notch.
Loved your 55 My Friend
Thanks for playing, Thanks for your support, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
Very true
ReplyDeleteGood perspective!
ReplyDeletei like the perspective...we have been given much we seldom think on...got breathe in my lungs today...smiles
ReplyDeleteAlthough it's fun to dream, there's so much truth to this.
ReplyDeleteSo very true, Linda. There are a lot of things that money could never buy. Gratitude for the things we already have, truly need and take for granted - an excellent reminder.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think this theory of yours needs testing. I volunteer to win the lottery and see if money really can't buy everything :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat point! I love the delivery.
ReplyDeleteThe 'what if' question ..always and forever.
ReplyDeleteMost people would take your point, but that doesn't stop all too many of them wrecking the planet as fast as they can.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda .. what if - I'll worry when it comes .. til then I sincerely hope the sun will shine, the clouds will give it cover - as now!, and the trees will leaf, the flowers bloom and thankfully we'll have water ..
ReplyDeleteSo til the what if comes .. I'll enjoy your blog .. cheers Hilary
Babs- Same here!
ReplyDeleteYvonne Osborne- Like my Mom always said, "your wants won't hurt you".
G-Man- Thanks so much. It's nice to have reminders sometimes.
Raven- Indeed.
Evalinn- Thank you.
Brian- You're right! Breathe in...breathe out...it's a good day.
Hilary- Hey, there's certainly nothing wrong with dreaming. Sometimes that's how reality happens.
Talon- Thank you. There are a lot of wonderful things in our lives that money can't buy.
Nicky- All theories should be tested. I would be willing to make that sacrifice, too.
Mama Zen- Thank you!
Helen- Some things are classics.
Doctor FTSE- I know, it's sad. We adopted endangered animals for Christmas gifts this year. Hopefully every little bit helps.
Hilary- Thanks so much. Let's hope the "what if" never happens, and the sun shines and the skies rain, and all is well with the world.
I am eternally grateful for the things I do have.
ReplyDeleteMeleah- Me too, although Nicky's idea isn't bad either.
ReplyDeleteYou are right on target with this 55!
ReplyDeleteSo many people think if they just had more money they'd be happier and they might be for a short time, but it's kind of like birthdays.
Eventually, the day ends, the cake is eaten, the presents opened and you do go back to being the person you were.
