Yesterday is but a dream,
Tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Salutation of the Dawn
- Kālidāsa (The complete works of Kalidasa)
This is a lovely way of saying we should live for today, and make every moment count. It is all too easy to get caught up in the "should haves" of the past, or the "got to's" in the future that today slips through the cracks.
Too true!
ReplyDeleteI visit your blog when I’m on ExposeYourBlog!
I think watching my dogs has taught me this lesson. They live in the present and it works very well for them.
ReplyDeleteThat is SO TRUE! We only have each moment to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing well, and enjoying your summer?!
xoxo
Linda,
ReplyDeleteAn excellent reminder and well received today by me. I've never heard of Kalidasa. I'll have to look this up:~) The photo is lovely, as well.
How's the summer going? Drop me a note when you can.
So very true. Today slips past quicker and quicker as the years roll on too.
ReplyDeleteAnji- Indeed it is! I visit you too when I'm on EYB, which is not as often as I'd like.
ReplyDeleteLinda- Dogs are very grounded in the moment. I guess cats are too, they just spend a lot of their moments sleeping.
Jannie- Live for today, the past is behind us, and tomorrow will take care of itself. Doing OK. Just back from a short vacation, and brought some kind bug back with me. That, too, shall pass!
Sara- Living in the present is something we all could stand to do more of. Summer is hot and humid, and mostly dry, except for last night's drenching thunderstorm.
Babs- I have noticed that, too. ;)
Love this!
