Have you ever seen
A pepper big as me
I think I must have fallen
From a giant pepper tree
I was such a handsome fellow
My picture she did take
She sat me on the scale
My weight she didn't fake
When she sliced me open
My secrets to reveal
What she saw I thought
Would surely make her squeal
My secrets to reveal
What she saw I thought
Would surely make her squeal
Very whimsical. I had to laugh and did enjoy reading this!
ReplyDeleteMark David - Thank you! Seeing the inside of that pepper made me laugh too.
ReplyDeleteahh...its a monster...smiles. fun verse
ReplyDeleteThat is a HUGE pepper! Or do those scales belong in a doll's house? ;)
ReplyDeleteBrian- Thank you, it made me smile, too.
ReplyDeleteBabs- Yes, even the cashier remarked on how big it was. Oh, those are regular kitchen scales. :)
Wow! That's one huge pepper! I loved this, Linda! I'm still chuckling over here :)
ReplyDeletegreat innocent fun...cheers pete
ReplyDeleteHi Linda .. that's a fun poem, a humungous pepper and a fun inside - it is inside isn't it ..and not something else I shouldn't see ..?
ReplyDeleteCheers good chuckle .. Hilary
Are BOTH those pictures real???? I mean, 14 pounds? Really? Am I reading that wrong? And WTF is that green snail doing inside? This whole thing is freaking me out, man.
ReplyDeleteTalon- I'm glad you got a laugh from this.
ReplyDeletePete- Thanks!
Hilary- Yes, it is the weird inside of the pepper. Glad you liked it.
Margaret- To clear up any confusion, the pepper weighs 14.35 ounces, almost a pound which is pretty big for a pepper, and both pictures ae real. It does kind of look like a snail inside, doesn't it, and it is a bit freaky looking.
Wow...pretty senuous pepper once she was opened up! Sometimes the outward appearances can be deceiving...well done! Glad you sliced her carefully so there was no need to call...Dr. Pepper.
ReplyDeleteA delightful one shot!
ReplyDeleteNow, THAT is one big bell pepper. So much vitamin C. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteYou are ever a delight, my dear!
xoxo
tolbert- "Glad you sliced her carefully so there was no need to call...Dr. Pepper." That cracked me up!
ReplyDeleteBelinda- Thank you!
Jannie- It was big, and the Vit. C is a good thing. You know there is much more in the red bell peppers. I put red, orange and green into my cheeseburger pie tonight. Cheers.
Love this. It makes me want to grow some green peppers again! :)
ReplyDeletethat is THE BIGGEST pepper I have EVER seen! WOWZAH!
ReplyDeleteSandra- Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeletemeleah rebeccah- Yeah, it caused quite a stir at the checkout.
Holy Cow! That's a giant pepper! What do you feed it??? And yes, it does look a little like one of my mutant lemons!
ReplyDeleteLinda- Almost a pound, and that's big for a pepper considering they are mostly hollow. Alas, the unfortunate pepper is now feeding us. It does look rather like a large mouth, except for the snail.
ReplyDeletelol what a pretty pepper and looks yummy too :)
ReplyDeleteyour piece made me smile, thank you

lynnaima- I am so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteThe inside of the pepper made me gasp. I wasn't sure if that was a snail until I read the comments.

ReplyDeletechrisd- Thanks for stopping by! That pepper was kind of freaky looking inside. I see more and more of that lately, but of course it's not really a snail, but it sure looks like one.
