Quote of the Week

Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Louis Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Da Vinci, and Albert Einstein.  - H. Jackson Brown

This is true - there were 24 hours in every day of the lives of these people, just as there is today.  What we have today are days filled with demanding jobs, kids with extracurricular activities, and family and social obligations pulling us in different directions.  We need to find a balance in our busy lives that will allow us to make the most of our time and accomplish our goals.

  1. I like that quote a lot, Linda. We definitely need to make the most of the time we're given.

  3. YES...finding BALANCE is the secret! I also think it's important to accept that some things will take priority and bump others off the list. I think we lose our balance when we try to get EVERYTHING done:~)

Great quote, as usual and I love your thoughts on it!

  4. I like that thought but unfortunately, it doesn't make me feel any less overwhelmed. Working, family and volunteering seems to eat up all my time.

  5. Hi Linda .. it's always good to be reminded that we each have the same amount of time in every day that everyone else has had.

Some seem to be able to garner in their seconds effectively, spread the seeds through their minutes to reap in the hours ... way more effectively than most of us!!

    Here's hoping .. Hilary

  6. Another excellent one, Linda! "Give me all your wasted hours and I'll give you..." I forget the rest and who said it, but it's true -- we often fritter hours away.

  7. Sara- I do try, but seldom manage, to get everything done. But it's enough to get by. We are trying to put more fun into our lives.

Anne- Life is often overwhelming. What matters in the end is do you feel good about what you do accomplish?

Hilary- Yes, finding the balance is key. Some find it more easily than others.

Jannie- Ah, but are those hours we fritter away wasted? If you are enjoying yourself that isn't that one part of the balance?
