Quote of the Week

Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Many times we think that failing is the worst thing that can happen, when in truth, failing to get up is much worse.

  1. That is a wonderful quote, Linda. I hope I always have the energy to rise up :)

  2. I love that quote too. If we don't make mistakes, we will never really "learn" anything. The trick is to keep on trying, isn't it?

  3. You know what? I failed at something over a YEAR ago and I still haven't gotten up from that particular thing... I need to get up... thanks for the reminder!

  4. So true. A reminder like this is always appreciated. Thank you.

  5. I can't help wondering how many great projects have failed because people just gave up at the first hurdle.

  6. Hi Linda .. we do fail everyday - don't we .. but we get up and totter off .. ready to go again.

The one challenge people have is when seeing something won't work, and they'd be better off stopping & creating something new .. before they've lost all 'faith' in the world - because no-one else can see their brilliance or lack of!!

Have a good Thanksgiving .. Hilary

  7. You're getting better and better at these quotes. I liked the quote, but really liked your commentary about it.

    Well done:~)

  8. Sorry, I'm a little behind in getting back here. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Talon- Thanks. Every situation is different, but I hope the same thing.

Linda- I'm glad you liked it, and yes, keep on trying and keep on learning.

Katherine- C'mon, pull yourself up; I know you can do it.

Hilary- I think we all need a reminder now and then.

Anji- Yes, me too, and what a shame that is.

Hilary- People do fail all the time. We are not perfect, but there is the saying "if first you don't succeed, try, try again." We should all take that to heart.

Sara- Thank you. I am glad you are enjoying them. Maybe I'll do a book one day.
