Some Things Never Change

The real things haven't changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and to have courage when things go wrong.
- Laura Ingalls Wilder
We live in a world that seems to be far removed from that of the author of this quote. But is it, really? We have automation and technology which have considerably changed the way we do things, but when you really look at life itself, things are pretty much the same.

We laugh, love and dream and if we treat people well, look forward to each day with thanks and accept the ups and downs with grace, then we are pretty much living as many generations before us have lived.

Let's take a little time today and look around at what's really important in our lives and how we present ourselves to others.

I have fallen off the blogging wagon lately. I've been somewhat uninspired and out of focus on writing, or maybe just plain lazy. I would like to change things up a bit here at Roses to Rainbows, but haven't come to any conclusions thus far on what that might be. Thoughts, comments and suggestions are welcome!

  1. I think we should keep things SIMPLE.
Love more and smile a lot.

I have fallen off the wagon too!
In fact the wagon isn't anywhere in sight.

    1. Indeed, sometimes the simple things are the best. I'll keep looking for your wagon.

  2. I think your blog's quote oriented style is a nice approach. It's difficult to stay inspired on blogs, I think. I usually write about topical things that I have heard during the week that have differing points of view but that becomes difficult with people seem to be more decisive on subjects. Today I was truly offended by a blog I have been following for a very long time. UGh...Your quotes are always uplifting so for me, I would always enjoy reading your posts and hope you feel more inspired to write.

    1. Cheryl, I think you bring a lot of interesting topics and different perspectives to us. I love reading your stuff even when I haven't left a comment, which I will try to correct here soon.

The quotes are a good way to get a topic. Sometimes I just get sidetracked by life and just don't get motivated. Hopefully that will change.

  3. Hi Linda - I enjoy visiting other blogs and seeing what they are doing ... and learning as I travel with bloggers - i.e. just by visiting I see other aspects of the world ... I'm just glad I don't have a challenge with what I write ... cheers and take care - all the best - Hilary

    1. Hi Hilary, you do seem to have a knack for finding and presenting interesting information. I especially like your food/travel oriented posts. You show places I will likely not see in person.

  4. Keeping things simple is important at times. It seems with all the gadgets and everything else we have nowadays, sometimes it is hard.

As for blogging -- keep it simple! I get into those feelings sometimes and need to dial it back some. Even if it's just a simple photo or something else. :)
