Quote of the Week

If I am what I have, and if I lose what I have, who then am I?  - Erich Fromm

We are more than the sum total of our possessions, and our lives have meaning beyond what we have accumulated.  What we are inside is who we are, not what we have or don't have.

  1. TOTALLY! We won't take it with us and we did not arrive with it, so let's live love and laugh as much as we can!

  2. I TOTALLY agree. Sometimes I notice a big screen tv, a nice car... and for a moment I think, "Oh, if only I could have something like that." But then I remember, it is just "stuff" and I have to much "stuff" around me... none of that is important!

  4. The older I get, the fewer things I seem to need. The trouble is, what do I do with all the crap I've already accumulated along the way?

  5. Hilary- Nope!

    Jannie- Amen!

Katherine- There are a lot of "I wish" and "If I had" in the world, but we really need to recognize what is important. We are!

Alexandra- That's what I like about quotes like these, they are like a jump start - a reminder for our inner selves.

Paula- Hi, so good to see you again! I hear you, and I can relate!
