Quote of the Week

Visualize this thing you want. See it, feel it, believe in it. Make your mental blueprint and begin.
- Robert Collier

You may tell yourself, "I can't do that".  You see many times we are our own biggest road block. What if no one likes my work?  Does it matter?  Who are you really trying to please? Answer these questions and then do what makes you happy!

  2. Linda,

That is such a cool painting. Is it oil? I love the colors in it and how the purple peeks out through the blue and white.

I also think the quote and your talk about it is very appropriate:~)

  4. Love and needed the quote this morning. You just never know who needs to hear what you say and I'm glad to run into you.

Love the artwork as well. I haven't painted in a couple of weeks and I need to very much get back in my studio, where I can visualize and relax and write and simply be me. (Smile)

  5. Nicky- Thank you! I have dabbled a bit over the years, but this is my first real painting. That's partly the reason for the quote.

    Mama Zen- Thanks.

Sara- Thank you. It is acrylic, and I'm just getting started. This was the result of me getting used to the paints and brushes.

    Linda- Thank you so much.

totsymae- Thank you for your lovely comment. I am glad you enjoyed the quote and the painting. Thanks for visiting Roses to Rainbows.

  6. "Who are you really trying to please?"

Yanno, that's something I need to ask myself MORE often.

  7. Meleah- While it's important to think of others, it is just as important to think of ourselves and what makes us happy.

  8. Hi Linda, Sara sent me over to see your paintinig and it is hard to believe it is your first abstract! I really like the subtle structures that you build. And the color is lovely, too. Keep up the great work and, you are right---don't care what anyone thinks about it! That is the way to grow your OWN way!

  9. Jean- Thank you for coming by to visit and for your kind remarks about my painting. The mish-mash abstracts are the ones I like best. When I try to actually paint something, those don't appeal to me as much.
