Spotlight on Sophie

This is the final day of the 20 Days of Chill writing challenge hosted by P. J. at A ‘lil HooHaa. Please join me as we wrap up a month of reading, writing and discovery. Today's topic is And then there was one.

And then there was one...and she thinks she's the queen of the house.

For over 20 years we have had two or more cats, but after the passing Rosie and Dood within a year of each other, Sophie now has the spotlight.

She loves boxes

One man's trash is another man's treasure.  Sophie had been waiting a long time for a home when we found her.  She's been with us for over seven years.

What cat doesn't love a basket of fresh laundry?

When we first met her, she was called Paris. It looks like she loves to pose for the camera, but really she does this just because she wants to.

  1. What a pretty cat. And, well, cats are queens of the house. Especially when they are by themselves!

    1. She really is pretty and sweet and quirky and fickle. She's a tortie! We are looking for a companion for her, or actually for me since she is hubby's cat, and I've lost both my boys.

  2. It's nice to see the pictures of Sophie and I know your heart was somewhat heavy in writing this post. But Sophie looks happy. I can't believe she was named Paris! That's an interesting choice for a cat. Anyway, she is lovely:~)

p.s. I love the last picture. She's a real mix of colors. In the first pictures, she looks like a calico, but in the last I see tabby in her!

    1. It was a bit sad, but I didn't want it to be another sad sob story of how I lost my buddies, but rather a little show and tell about Sophie. The prompt kind of dictated where I would go with this post. And then there was one...We are still looking at cats occasionally, when I see someone interesting on the websites. We met Barnaby. an orange tabby, last weekend, and I got a call about a gray Rosie-look-alike that we will go see tomorrow.

  4. She's a beauty, Linda. One of the best cats I've ever had was a tortoise shell (short hair though). She was so special and I can see that Sophie is too.
