Everyone is kneaded out of the same dough but not baked in the same oven. - Yiddish Proverb We all come into the world in the same way. Who we become and what makes us different is the influence of our family, our environment and life's circumstances.
I started to leave my comment and then read Nicky's comment. It's a great one!
There are so many ways to go with this quote. The only thing I'd add is our ability to learn and adapt to life's circumstances, which is probably what you meant anyway.
What a great way to see it...
ReplyDeleteand what a yummy looking loaf!
So true.. your focaccia is another woman's chula (my own Yiddish proverb). ;)
ReplyDeleteso, so true!
ReplyDeleteI love that proverb, but I think my oven wasn't preheated, which is why I came out half baked! :-)

Great take on a quote:~)
Like Sara, I thoroughly enjoyed Nicky's comment and now I have nothing witty to say except that I think my oven was turned too high.
ReplyDeleteBrenda- Thanks, the bread was good, too.
ReplyDeleteHilary- Not really sure what chula is, but I think I get the idea.
Meleah- Yeah, I liked this one. We are the same and yet different - makes the world go 'round.
Nicky- Good one! I'm sure you came out just the way you were supposed to.
Sara- Nicky is a funny girl! All that we go through in our lives shapes us into who we are today.
Cardiogirl- I think that both you and Nicky were baked to just the proper degree of doneness.
That is so true!
ReplyDeleteLaughs @ Nicky's comment :)
That's always fascinated me - how we're all the same and all completely different at the same time. Neat quote, Linda!
